I’ve been busy working up handspun samples for Happy Fuzzy Yarn to display in the booth at the summer trade show of The National Needle Arts next week.

I’m also knitting and crocheting (and hopefully weaving) swatches of each sample.

Fibres and colourways shown are:
100% Bombyx silk in Death & Taxes (center); clockwise from top: 100% Falkland in Crete, 100% BFL in Hemoglobin, 75% BFL/25% Silk in Kelp, 100% Merino in Hearth, 50% Merino/50% Yak in Azores, 100% Polwarth in Sunset, and 50% Merino/50% Tencel in Cobalt.

Both cats love to snuggle when I’m making.

Shadow’s helped me stay warm while I knit a pair Happy Fuzzy Yarn socks. Buddy’s been very helpful in making sure I focus on finishing a long-overdue crochet design in Anzula Milkyway.

Sorry .. I’ve been distracted from my planned writing this week by this very beautiful braid of 100% Michigan Wool and Alpaca by Happy Fuzzy Yarn.

It’s part of the Happy Fuzzy Yarn Local Wool Project and there’s a spin-a-long on hosted Ravlery through the end of February. Will you join us?

This past weekend I was at TNNA, The National NeedleArts Association Summer Trade Show in Indianapolis. It was an amazing show!

I was there to help my friend Riin of Happy Fuzzy Yarn in her booth.

I fell in love with a few of Riin’s 17 new colours, so I bought a package of three tranquil colours after the SampleIT event and then wound the yarn in my hotel room. Here is 435 yards of Corrie Sock (75% Superwash Corriedale wool/25% nylon) in new colour Tundra sleeping peacefully on my pillow (at least one of us had a full night’s sleep).
