again why again

On August 24, 2022 we lost my mother-in-law to cancer. She’d been diagnosed just over a year prior. It’s been a challenging time for our family as we learn how to navigate parenting our remaining parent. I’ve struggled greatly this past year to figure out how to move forward (or why). The community has been incredibly supportive and I do not have words to properly express how much they mean to me and to our family.

If you would like to make a donation in her memory, a scholarship fund was established at the university where she taught for nearly 30 years. Please contact me if you would like further information.

For the best explanation of grief I’ve ever found, I point you to the ball, button, and box analogy. I hold that my box has many balls of various sizes, so the button often gets hit when I least expect it.

I’m not certain how frequently I’ll write at this site or what its future holds.

Each day is a new adventure.
