Peony Watch 2022

And so it begins.

I’ve been watching since the stalks first emerged weeks ago. The growth over recent weeks is amazing. This second photo was taken the last week of April.

warm then winter

March weather arrived early again this week. The region reached record highs yesterday. A wintery mix is in the forecast for tonight into tomorrow, with potential for 3-6 inches of snow and sleet in my area.

I feel like this lone and flattened crocus I found in my backyard yesterday.

The weather is typical for February — flipping from record highs to ice and snow. The daffodils in my back yard are optimistic and a few have begun to emerge.

Spending some time with them this afternoon provided some much needed mental relief. I hope the photo brings you comfort too.
