now-ish, a post

Posting here has slowed. It’s in part summer, in part some grief and a new schedule. And in part I’m not the same person who first started blogging here all those years ago (I’ve always disliked that word). Expectations have changed, and so have I.

This is my space. I’m using it how I want. Sometimes that means change. Some changes can be small. Some can be larger.

Don’t worry, this isn’t a declaration of dismantling the site; nor am I abandoning it. There will be posts that fit best here and I’ll write them. But I don’t expect them to be weekly. Dot thinks I should share more photos of her, but I’d rather snuggle her than wrestle with formatting them.

So, for the curious, I keep a now page at pennyshima.com/now if you are interested what I’m generally up to. Yes, another domain. Yes, still me. That page shares recent posts from across my sites, books I’m reading, things I’m working on. Some of those links update automatically; I try to update the rest semi-weekly. There’s a “last updated” note at the top — except for the automagic links, which should be obvious. ;)

I started keeping it because I’m not a fan of chasing social media algorithms, prefer text, and my life doesn’t really move at that pace anyway. But humans tend to be curious about other humans, and it’s easier to just point people there and make of it what they will.
