it’s a unique skill

The joke in our family is that I plate monochromatic meals. It’s not intentional. Everything, including the plate, occasionally ends up to be a similar shade of white, ecru, or a light tan. What can I say, I love cauliflower. (Note: we only have 2 white plates).

The other day at coffee, I started to laugh. I’ve reached a new level of monochrome.

Paper tablecloth, off-white yarn, and the coffee cup1.

This blanket was begun by a friend for her grandchild over 20 years ago. She decided after about 6 inches she didn’t like knitting very much and set it aside. She recalls crocheting him a colorful blanket instead. When the sisterhood started up our We Care Blanket initiative, she went digging and found it. I feel honored to work and hopefully eventually finish it.

  1. If you’re curious, I made some different edits to the image than normal, so I am curious if the stitches pop a little better. ↩︎
