I love these flowers.

The seemingly endless rain has made it difficult to spend significant time with my nose in the blossoms this year.
These photos do not do these sweet smelling beautiful blossoms justice. Their time here is fleeting. Throughout the year I often look at these photos, they help me remember and hold close the joy of these moments. And soon I will begin again to hope for the next season of blossoms, and that cycle of hope will keep me going.
There is only one deep reddish pink blossom, but it is my favorite to photograph because it is different. It is one I planted after years of indecision. It’s similar to but not quite the same as the ones I remember from my childhood. The others all “came with the house”; I moved them several years ago where they were in mostly shade (and at risk of getting trampled by the neighbor’s renovation). They appear to thrive in their new spot and the (theoretical) sun.
