Apparently when life is challenging and everything feels impossible I turn to simple stitches and make blankets.
I recently sent this blanket off to make its way to Israel and someone who needs a hug of knit comfort.
It’s based on a Purl SoHo pattern that I adapted for dk weight yarn. The yarn is a mix of superwash merino, some with silk and cashmere. My yardage estimates didn’t quite work out with the yarn I had so the colour layout doesn’t completely match my vision. That said, it’s a pretty blanket and my hope is that it brings someone comfort. Each stitch helped me.
The only picture I have of it held open is this one, taken moments after I finished knitting. You can see all the yarn ends hanging down.
There’s many more pictures and notes over on my notebook site.

There will likely be many more blankets in my near future. Sending love and strength. And may somehow we find a שבת שלום
