With the heaviest of hearts, Shadow suffered a fatal stroke (cardiogenic arterial thromboembolism) suddenly Thursday morning. We rushed him to the emergency vet where my nightmare was confirmed. We were able to be with him for goodbye.
We are absolutely shattered. We are comforting Dot as we add a new ball to our box of grief.
While many felines have very low survival rate for hemangiosarcoma, we enjoyed 147 days together following his surgery. They were not enough. I’m thankful for every single one of the 12 years, 2 weeks, and 6 days (4403 days) we had together.
Please consider donations to the rescue group of your choice, Humane Society of Westchester at New Rochelle, or the Cornell Feline Health Center.
With love and purrs.

So so sad. Always remember that you gave him the best of kitty lives. You will have him in your heart forever, but it is a huge loss.
