shifting into spring

I always feel weird talking about my work here. Not sure why, but I do. I’m working on getting better at it and improving integration of all of my sites (they’re linked from here).

One of the things I do is test knit (and crochet) for designers. That basically means I work with the pattern instructions to make sure they make sense and produce the desired result. I recently finished a test knit for author and designer Larissa Brown, her Shift Shawl. With her permission, after I finished testing, I varied slightly from her instructions (I really like the number 9) and have become oddly fond of this very colourful shawl.

While I wasn’t happy with my initial colour choices and ripped out a large portion of the knitting, I discovered I really love the final result.

The yarn is Lion Brand’s LB Collection Superwash Merino. I do love this yarn and it makes me very sad there aren’t additional colours (SUCH AS GREY).

I also used my lovely Hiya Hiya interchangeables and I used a cable connector to make a longer cable when I needed one. These are very versatile and affordable needles.

You see all the progress photos in my project notes and also purchase your own copy of the Larissa’s beautiful fun Shift Shawl pattern at Ravelry.
