one step each day…
I still struggle to find words for recent events. Shadow and I have spent a lot of time snuggling and trying to understand. I am doing what I can by knitting warmth and hugs.
- Give Newtown a Hug – Facebook Page & Ravelry Group
knit or crochet cowls and scarves for family members - Knitters for Newtown – Facebook Page
Knit 8×8″ squares to be seamed into at least 26 blankets. More details at this faq. - snowflakes for Sandy Hook – Connecticut PTA
When school resumes for Sandy Hook, it will be in a new building. Parent-volunteers are working to ensure that the students are welcomed back by a winter wonderland with the entire school decorated with as many unique snowflakes as possible. We encourage senders to be as creative as possible, remembering that no two snowflakes are alike. Please make and send snowflakes by January 12, 2013 and click here for more information.
There are MANY snowflake patterns online .. This ravelry pattern search should give you a good idea for crochet (and knitting) and there’s a new book out, 100 Snowflakes to Crochet by Caitlin Sainio. For paper crafting, here are a few that caught my eye: 3-d paper snowflake, martha stewart (kid friendly!), and beautiful paper snowflake
Thank you.
