ps i -heart- you
The reason we went to Nashville was to see a very good pair of friends marry. The wedding was at the start of August and I knew the weather would probably be (very) hot and humid. But indoors it would be cool and very air-conditioned. I needed something which would help me cope with the extreme temperatures in-doors and out. I didn’t know what to wear, so I shrugged my shoulders… and that was it! I needed a shrug to put over my shoulders!
I pulled out stitch dictionaries and the most perfect, silvery, very fine 8/2 cotlin yarn. After swatching and blocking I decided both on a needle and a stitch pattern.
So I set out to knit.
After a few weeks I looked at my dismal progress (I had to rip back a few times because knitter wasn’t paying attention). There was no way it would be possible to finish the design before the wedding. Even if all I did 24/6 was knit.
I needed to come up with a backup plan really quick.
So I pulled out yarn that would knit up more quickly and with a larger needle. While the colour wasn’t as perfect for my dress, it is a solid neutral.
I am pleased to announce that today you can purchase the pattern to knit your very own ps i -heart- you shrug. It is a simple four row pattern, beginning with a provisional cast-on. While it is knitted flat, there is no purling. To end, there is only a few inches of seaming.
