actually spinning
While I love the beauty and inspiration of spinning my own yarn, I have struggled to fit the necessary actions into my day. I’ve been working on carving out five minutes here and there and it has paid off.
I now have beautiful singles that are waiting for me to complete the next steps: building my lazy kate, finding a free bobbin, plying them together, and then creating something more with the finished yarn.
Are these the best singles ever? No. Are they my best singles? I think so. I was more consistent on many things, we’ll see how it all comes together at the end.
The singles are from a braid of polworth hand dyed by Limonene of Limonene Designs.

What wonderful colours! I can’t wait to see them plied and knitted.
thanks! I really want to finish the yarn too! Who knows, I might not knit it but maybe weave! time will tell. :)
I love how your singles spun up! Can’t wait to see how they look when you ply them.
thank you! i’m really impatient to ply. I want to see the finished yarn, the polworth is a great fibre to spin. thank you for introducing me to it (it to me?)
Limonene, do you ever dye Finn? I’m in Finn mode right now and could do with some lavender-into-light-grey… Your colorways are awesome!
Thank you so much! I’m a bit understocked in the Scandinavian sheep right now. I’ve got Norwegian, but not Finn in quantities big enough to dye. I had some Finn in a carded prep that was just lovely, though. I’ll be on the lookout for more.
