pen love

micron and notelettsIt’s been a long time since I last wrote about my favorite pen du jour. For the past few weeks I’ve been on a green kick (winter can go far away until December) and I found the green I like best in a pen base (like yarn base) I stopped using and I’m not sure why.

Sakura’s Pigma Micron, in size 05, 0.45mm line width. The color is hunter green, a nice dark with hints of black.

Why did I stop using these pens? I think because I went into that tiny nib phase and while the 005 is delightful, these pens get most of their usage in my daily log books and I tend to write hard and fast. The tiny points could not hold up to my abuse. At the time I did not think to go back up a nib size but abandoned the product line all together.

Have you recently rediscovered something that had lost your favour?

Pen is pictured with my new favourite notebook (du jour), a noteletts L6:squares in… green.

  1. Flair pens! I used to love them, and I saw an orange one that had been left by the department mailboxes. I promptly pocketed it (finders keepers and all that) and Flairs have become my current favorite grading pens!

  2. Ooh! I love to grade with flair pens! There’s something about the tip that makes grading a little bit easier… and orange or purple or green will surprise even a PhD student. ;)
