knitted gift : pleat
This one is in the box waiting for me to print a label so I can mail it off to a very good friend who gave birth to her second daughter a few months ago. She lives in a warmer climate and I think this will be a beautiful gift for her. She deserves something special, the little one is getting showered with gifts, why shouldn’t she?
The pattern is named Pleat, it was designed by Norah Gaughan and is found in the second book of her collection, so uniquely titled, Berroco: Norah Gaughan Vol 2. I substituted yarn, choosing Knit One Crochet Too 2nd Time Cotton and playing with needle size to work out tension concerns. My row gauge was a smidgen smaller than I measured (my own fault) so the neck line is up in super modest territory (aka something I’d wear), but I hope she still likes it and that it fits!
It’s not the best FO (finished object) photo in the world. I took it at the top of the stairway and didn’t want to fall down the stairs! There are a few things I will do differently when I knit this again but I think this is a beautiful wearable tank.
