a moment

of silence. of sadness. … pause … a moment for planning and inspiration.

Yesterday (Tuesday) I lost these mitts in either Grand Central or on my MetroNorth train. I’m heartbroken over their loss. These were my favourites. I was quite pleased with how they came out. I loved knitting LavenderSheep‘s yarn as always. And they fit perfectly. Yes, even the thumb that started out tight had loosened up to be a delight. I plan to stop by the lost and found but I won’t keep my hopes up. Yesterday was the perfect day for mitts and their loss made my walk home just a bit chillier.

Now if you’ll excuse me I’m going to curl up with a pile of stitch dictionaries and my kitten and plan out the next pair.

  1. I’m sorry. I hope they show up.

  2. Definitely call/stop by the lost and found. I lost my work ID (encoded for door access!) on the bus, and was transferred and referred 3x before I got the right “office”, but it had been turned in and they held it for me to pick up.

I would agree to not get your hopes up, but if you can manage to call during the day, you might have a smile sooner if they were turned in – and you would know where.

    here’s hoping . . .
