The following quote sums up my life pretty well at the moment. I’ve seen several different attributions (Murphy, general project scheduling, etc) .. so that reference will need to suffice as I doubt it is possible to properly attribute these few words anymore:
The first 90% of project takes 90% of the time, and the last 10% takes at least twice as long.
