words everywhere
Slowly my eyes, brain, and fingers are allowing me to delve back into the world of words.
I completed the following books this past week.. it wasn’t a very good week for reading…
The Four Hour Work Week by Tim Ferriss.
I have mixed feelings about this book. E and I have (half) joked for years how awesome it would be to be able to tour the world by having a business which had it’s own fulfilment centre and only needed a few bits of hours of our time every so often. I am unsure of this in reality. The one thing I do agree with is not waiting until 65 or 70 for retirement and to have mini ones now. Again, I’m unsure if this is possible in reality. Right now I’m struggling over my budget and having a pathetic desire for some material goods which I don’t necessarily need. *sigh*
Illicit: How Smugglers, Traffickers, and Copycats are Hijacking the Global Economy by Moisés Naím
I found this on E’s wishlist and I took it out from the library instead thinking that it might be useful for the Project. It wasn’t what I expected but did fascinating look at the larger global criminal networks. I’m not sure if it’s because I read the book while exhausted, but I often found it quite repetitive.
