4:3:3 some books

4 books were completed this past week.

  1. Acorna’s Triumph by Anne McCaffrey. The happily ever after ending. You can’t tell me I ruined it and you didn’t see it coming.
  2. War of Art by Steve Pressfield. It’s labeled “self help”. Bleah on that. This is a fun book which reminds me of Bird by Bird which I need to reread. It’s useful for everyone!
  3. Twist and Loop by Annie Modesitt. What a beautiful book! I’m sorry I haven’t photographed what I’ve been inspired to attempt to create but wow. Between War of Art and this book I have had my creativity hopefully kicked into gear!
  4. Spinning Straw into Gold by Joan Gould. I am a sucker for fairy tales.. This looks at the stages of a woman’s life in the shade of a fairy tale. It is also part memoir. I enjoyed it and do want to reread these tales.

3 Books were returned to the library this afternoon. I hate doing this but I’ve just not been “in the mood” to read these and I should give someone else the opportunity. One day — perhaps soon — I will try again.

  1. All Whom I have Loved by Aharon Appelfield
  2. A Tranquil Star by Primo Levi
  3. Map of Dreams by M Rickert

Of course I can’t leave a library without taking out more books. The following three followed me home today. Yes, it is the summer of Anne McCaffrey. Sue me.

  1. Born on a Blue Day by Daniel Tammet
  2. First Warning: Acorna’s Children by Anne McCaffrey and Elizabeth Ann Scarborough
  3. The Rowan by Anne McCaffrey

  1. I like Anne McCaffrey, so I won’t sue you, sorry! I recently read the first Acorna’s Children book, but haven’t found the second. Meanwhile, interlibrary loan is my friend… I’m working my way through David Edding’s The Mallorean series, and concurrently through the Valdemar Universe. (I’m in the middle of the Mage Storms Trilogy)
