learning: Parshah Shelach
Parshat Shelach, Bamidbar (Numbers) 13:1-15:41
I am quite delinquent in drafting and publishing this post. I found out on Wednesday that I am attending a wedding on Sunday. I am female and have no appropriate attire and a size 5 foot. It’s been a bit hectic. I am pretty sure I have put together a nice ensemble and I won’t embarrass any family members by it. I hope.
So Shelach is up this week. No not that kind.
Sorry, couldn’t resist.
Anyway, this is the pivotal parsha where twelve spies are sent out to canaan and return with great gifts of the land however, ten tell scary stories about the scary peoples there. Only two of those who went out say that the land is conquerable. Because of this the people cry they’d rather be in Mitzrayim (Egypt) so they are forced to remain in the desert another 40 years until that generations dies. We also receive a few more mitzvot including the taking of challah and tying tzitzit (also here).
I think you now know where to go to find more info. I have a ton to do in the next less than three hours before bentsch licht (candle lighting).
