travel: Inverness & Kyle of Lochalsh
Continuing on a recap of the Euro-Adventure 2001…
We took the train down from Inverness for the day, to Kyle of Lochalsh. It was gorgeous and beautiful and I want to do it again!
As many of you know, I am PETRIFIED of bridges over water. I’ve gotten better over the years but there is no way I would WALK over the bridge to Isle of Skye.
While in Kyle of Lochalsh we stopped by a small shop and bought wool (washable) sweaters. E wore his out last year, mine is still going well (though E took it for his use). I want to go back and try to redeem myself with yarn and other wool? (is that possible? I heard it was hard to just find this stuff in the UK or am I just imagining things?) Or just see the beautiful countryside and enjoy the calm and relaxing time we had that summer.
I’m sorry I am not writing more on Inverness. It was a beautiful place but I remember the wonderful train down to Kyle more..
Here are a few photos from that journey..

It sounds like you had a lovely time, the bridge over water notwithstanding.
I’ve always wanted to travel to Scotland (should have done when I was in England 6 years ago, alas) and other north-ish places. I’m not particularly drawn to warm sunny destinations, and it boggles the mind of most of my friends.
