read: just one

I just finished one book this past week, This Rough Magic (Heirs of Alexandria) by Mercedes Lackey, Eric Flint, and Dave Freer. This is the continuation of The Shadow of the Lion. Quite enjoyable and different than the first one. It’s a slightly large book (944 pages) and incredibly absorb-able and enjoyable. I need to check my Mercedes Lackey list and see what is left of hers I haven’t read.. I have a feeling the next few weekends will find me drowning myself in fantasy and sci-fi. Perhaps I’ll read through some classics I *blush* haven’t yet read (Foundation, for one). We’ll see. :) Hope everyone is enjoying this wacky March weather.

  1. I hated Foundation. At least I think I did… that’s Asimov, right? I just couldn’t get into his stuff, classic or not. I did manage to finish it though, unlike Hemingway’s “Farewell to Arms.” I fell asleep on that three times and gave up. Not sf, I know, but also supposed to be a “classic,” and, um, an assignment for 12th grade English. Oops.

  2. You, you, you ENABLER, you!!! Mentioning more Mercedes Lackey that my local branch has never heard of, hah. MY next few weekends were supposed to be reserved for lets-not-need-to-panic-last-minute pre-Pesach cleaning. Of course, I now have both being sent from some other branch.

But I wasn’t big on Foundation (ok, what I read of it) either.
