read: comfort

Last week was a difficult one. This week, thus far, it’s just horridly cold (may that be all). As I also wasn’t feeling well, all I wanted to do Friday night was curl up with a nice historical fantasy and that I did.

The Dawn Stag by Jules Watson. This is the second book in her trilogy and I highly recommend it. The story and its women drew me in and kept me reading in the bathroom well past when I should have been asleep. The ending is a bit odd but I am thankful for it. And yes, I cried. Many bits of the story line spoke to me quite powerfully. It was the perfect book for the weekend. Now to wait very impatiently for The Boar Stone.

I also read through Greetings from Knit Cafe by Suzan Mischer. It is a nicely laid out book and I wish her success in her venture! May we all be so blessed to love our work. I wanted to stop by while we were in CA this past December, but alas, it was not to be. The designs are bright and warm and made me smile during this recent onslaught of cold.

A warning, Strand book galleys have gone up in price, they are now $1.49!
