knit: time out & circs
No pictures today as I forgot to take and upload them last night.
Regarding the Koigu beret.. well, I feel a bit better because Grumperina seems to have had a similar result with a different pattern. I guess I just look at the cost per skein and freeze up and go super conservative. I have no idea. I’ll rip it soon and see what happens for try three, two strikes is not good. For now it’s sitting in the corner in time out. I also believe the error lies BNAY (between needles and yarn, aka in ME) not with the pattern.
Everyone, by now, seems to know of my love of little dpn’s. Especially the 4″ Addi’s. WELL, working on the beret got me realizing how nice it was not to stress over commuting with them. Nor to worry about just throwing my project in the bag. This afternoon I stopped by Knitty City on my way to a client and picked up another 2.5 mm Addi circ (16″ to go with my 24″) and while waiting for some installs to finish switched over. It’s taking getting used to (I couldn’t justify 40″ of circ for magic loop) but I did throw the sock in my bag and it didn’t seem to be any worse for wear when I took it back out after a short subway ride. I can’t WAIT to be done with these socks so that I can knit 10 others. Franklin discussed this ages ago here.
Question: Can I knit two socks with two circs that are different sizes (16 & 24) and not go nuts? I’m thinking of knitting two different yarned socks at a time so that I’ll have 2 pairs by the end.
I am working on all the other knitting but haven’t made much progress. I think I am still sort of recovering from the swallowtail push in December. I have no idea.
Lastly, I’m slowly updating the static pages which are navigatble from the links above. The needle inventory is probably the most complete right now.

I would just check that you can deal with how short the needles are on the 16″. I was using a 16″ and it was fine, but after using a 24″ with longer needles I had a hard time adjusting to the 16″ again, it made my hands cramp. Just something to look out for.
I love socks on 2 circs. I use 16″ circulars. Though when Sarah teaches she has had people who use one of each or one addi turbo and one bamboo. It helps them visualize where the beginning of the round is. I just use a marker, but different things work for different people.
