An absorbing read which has me running to learn more about these female artists. I definitely think that they get a bad rap with the word “geisha” often being equated to prostitute or whore. I think he left many things out and my impression was of the geisha he chose to portray in this novel was just that, a prostitute … and i need to remember that this is a novel
