Though I’m not attempting to slow down in the race to catch up in the newspapers or magazines I’m behind on. I am completely caught up on all but the most recent The Economist and plugging away at The New Yorker and the other magazines floating around. E’s hoping that I really attach the magazine rack soon, it’s over flowing.

This past week I listened to a few really great podcasts including The Cambist and Lord Iron over at Podcastle. Craftlit is currently zooming through The Scarlet Letter and one day I’ll catch up with Escape Pod.

Watership Down

This is a classic that for reasons unknown I never encountered in high school. It is well known that I like to read quickly yet from the very first page of this book I decided that I wanted to enjoy and savor this classic. I took about two weeks to read it, a chapter here, finishing a part there. I enjoyed every single minute of it and read slower and slower as the remaining pages diminished. If you’ve not yet read this, go get it. Read it and enjoy. It will join my list of “summer re-reads”. Thank you Bonnie for introducing it to me (and for convincing me to read Animal Farm).
