About

Penny grew up surrounded by trees and love in a small village on the end of Long Island. An only child, her doting parents built her a small playhouse (with electricity and running water) to play in and call her own. It was there in Little Acorn that Penny’s creativity and desire to look at the world differently was born. When not sewing, crocheting, or enjoying fresh raspberries, Penny could be found reading, writing, or playing flute. As she grew, more activities competed for her time, she played bassoon and ran varsity cross country and track (slowly). Being a typical teenager desiring to fit in and due to her busy schedule, many of her previous activities were laid aside to make room. In College she began actively crocheting again and between the boom of the knitting craze and the proliferation of the Internet, she finally grokked knitting sometime in 2003 and has been unstoppable since. She credits Grad School for giving her knitting time and making sure that her feet will not want for socks nor her neck for cowls. You can purchase Penny’s creations and learn more about her designs at Little Acorn Creations. She also keeps busy with her company helping small business owners navigate today’s technologies. Penny also loves books, trains, penguins, and her husband, E. They live in cozy white brick house surrounded by lots of acorns and a small garden space in Westchester County, NY with a black kitten named Shadow Ninja.
