knit in the city
Knitty City (and my wallet) is a set of US 2 dpn’s and 2 skeins of sock yarn lighter (Regia 4-fädig, farbe 5440 [i almost took 5443 but the colours of 5440 looked yummier this afternoon] if you missed all that it’s a red/grey/pink). I can’t wait to finish the current pair (i’m close to the toe on the first one) and see what this knits up as. The colours are SO yummy! They have a great location (79th, south side, between B’way and Amsterdam, closer to Amsterdam) *and* they are open on Monday (unlike another great shop, the yarn co.).
This is a very different shop than Purl in which I acted like such a dorky awestuck fangirl last week (and didn’t purchase anything, but pet lots of yarn).
I also like The Yarn Connection as I can go there over lunch, but I end up just petting the yarn and it’s not good to spend lunch money on yarns…
And given my budget PS Yarns wins with nice affordable yarns. I try not to shop in Brooklyn, too large a temptation…
